The 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation is proud to announce that we have been officially recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This milestone is a major step in our ongoing efforts to support Black artists, celebrate creativity, and enrich the cultural landscape of Kansas City and beyond.

“We are excited to receive this status, as it allows us to continue our mission of providing Black artists with the necessary resources, platforms, and opportunities for success,” said Founder and Executive Director Quez Beasley.

“This recognition is a validation of the work we have done and the innovative programs we are building for the future.” Our Purpose At the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation, our goal is to center, celebrate, and empower Black artists by providing them with access to creative opportunities, mental health and wellness resources, professional development, and community connections.

We are committed to building an equitable and inclusive arts ecosystem where Black artists can flourish both personally and professionally. Programs for Artists Our programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of Black artists, enabling them to grow their careers and make an impact in their communities.

These programs include: Annual Festival: A dynamic three-day event in the historic 18th & Vine District of Kansas City, showcasing diverse Black artists and their talents. Conference: A platform for meaningful dialogue, professional development, and networking opportunities to equip artists with tools for success. Artist Advocacy Program: Connecting artists with resources such as financial literacy workshops, affordable housing solutions, and legal assistance.

Artist-in-Residency Program: Providing artists with dedicated housing, time, space, and resources to explore their creativity while engaging with the community. Artist Awards Program: Honoring and elevating exceptional Black artists for their contributions to the arts and culture. New Initiative: Adopt an Artist Program As part of our dedication to supporting Black artists, we are launching the Adopt an Artist Program.

With a contribution of just $10 a month, individuals can help provide artists with important resources, including: Art supplies and professional materials. Participation in the annual festival. Access to workshops, wellness resources, and networking opportunities.

Tailored housing and financial guidance for artists. This program allows the community to directly invest in the success of Black artists. Achievements Thus Far Since our establishment, the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation has accomplished the following: Hosted 2 annual festivals that drew audiences from around the country, highlighted hundreds of Black artists, and saw over $250,000 worth of black art sold.

Successfully held our first Arts Conference, addressing crucial topics such as mental health, financial literacy, and professional development for Black artists. Formed partnerships with community organizations and businesses to connect artists with resources for growth and sustainability.

These achievements are just the beginning of our efforts to create an arts ecosystem that amplifies Black voices. Future Plans With our new non-profit status, we are committed to expanding our programs, increasing opportunities for Black artists, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation.
