A deep dive into the pivotal discussions shaping future criminal justice policies

Rep. Collins is excited to officially announce the details for this year’s 2024 Criminal Justice Policy Town Hall.

In partnership with:
The Missouri Department of Corrections
St. Louis University Criminology and Criminal Justice Program
The MacArthur Justice Center

We are proud to have a great group of panelists a long with a plethora of resource tables to assist individuals who are justice impacted.

Join us, Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 11:20 am to 2:00 pm at the 
Link Auditorium, 4504 Westminster Pl, St. Louis, MO 63108.

This year’s Town Hall will focus on key areas of criminal justice reform, including:The Death PenaltyThe New ACA LawWrongful Convictions & Conviction Integrity UnitsPrison Conditions Legislative Efforts and Updates on Areas Such As: Freestanding Claims of Actual Innocence & AG Right to Appeal Geriatric Sentencing Reform Department of Corrections Independent OversightLife Without Parole (LWOP)The Clean Slate ActGood Time CreditYour voice is essential in helping us address these pressing issues.

Summary:

The 2024 Criminal Justice Town Hall served as a critical platform for discussing necessary reforms in the justice system. The event gathered a diverse array of experts, policymakers, and community representatives, who emphasized the importance of transparency and safety in developing future justice policies. Key discussions focused on bridging gaps between law enforcement and communities, addressing systemic issues, and proposing actionable reforms to enhance public trust and safety.

Participants at the Town Hall will address not only policy changes but also the broader impacts on communities, emphasizing collaboration and community input in justice reform. The focus was on creating a balanced system that ensures fairness, accountability, and security for all, addressing both national concerns and localized issues to forge a comprehensive approach to justice reform heading into the coming years.

*Reminder bill filing for the upcoming legislative session begins in December.
