Traveling this summer? Keep your skin healthy and glowing with these essential travel tips from experts.
While Summer should include relaxing times we also need to remember that our skin actually works harder during the vacation . Flights, fun nights, extra UVA rays, different food and water… our skin works overtime. So here are 5 Travel Tips that can make you and your skin enjoy your voyages more.
Dry climate: If you’re heading somewhere dry, a good moisturizer is a must-even for people with normally oily skin. The extra dryness can cause your sebaceous glands to work overtime at producing skin oil, which can lead to more clogged pores and extra acne breakouts.
Humid climate: If you’re headed somewhere humid, chances are you’ll be sweating more than normal, which can lead to clogged pores as well. Be sure to pack a gentle cleanser and clean your skin twice a day, and switch to noncomedogenic beauty products if you haven’t already-they’re designed specifically to not clog your pores like their regular counterparts.
DO NOT FORGET YOUR SUN PROTECTION
It is an unhealthy myth that darker complexion doesn’t need sun protection. To avoid risk of skin cancer, darker patches, skin discolorations and…. drying and aging effects of UV rays pack and USE your nontoxic sun protection (30 SPF is most recommended) and use it every day. We are really never our of UV rays impact https://www.acnease.com/products/mineral-sun-defense-spf-30.htm
2. Travel Wisely
Don’t underestimate the effect the trip itself can have on your skin. Airplanes are notorious for being overly dry, so you may want to pack a travel-sized bottle of moisturizer just in case, especially if it’s a long flight and you have a history of dry skin. If you’re travelling by car, think about the places you’ll be driving through-be especially wary of areas that have bad smog, as these environmental pollutants can be transferred to your skin and make cause all types of problems.. Be sure to cleanse your skin thoroughly after travelling through any areas like this.
3. Protect Your Skin While You’re There
I know, -so much fun- so little time… but a minimal skin health routine pay you back big time , so spare few minutes each day to protect your skin. If you’re headed off on a vacation to a warm, sandy beach or somewhere else where you’ll be spending more time than usual outdoors be sure to ramp up your skin protection regimen. We already listed sunscreen as a must, and your morning and evening moisturizer as a daily requirement , but do not forget about the fact you are responsible not only for your face skin but also for your body. On vacation – your body skin works overtime as well. Use body moisturizer and perhaps a foot and hand cream to prevent peeling, cracked heels and broken nails .
4. Watch What You Eat
Vacations are normally a time when people tend to stray from their healthy diets for the sake of having a good time. While it’s fine to splurge a little while you’re travelling, keep in mind that bombarding your body with lots of less-than-healthy foods all at once can exacerbate your body and skin problems. Enjoy the local cuisine, but remember that things like excess sugar or too much alcohol, can cause inflammation which can lead to number of problems including acne and serious GI problems. Also- stay alert about water. In different places water carries its own biological world and – this clash of what you body us used to and the new biological reality -may cause truly unpleasant GI , skin and even allergic reactions, and spoil your good times. Bottled water is always a good choice to prevent those unpleasant if not dangerous reactions.
5. Plan a “Welcome Home” Skin Detox
Once you return home from your destination, take a little time to pamper your skin as a way to make up for everything it’s just been through. Increase your water intake, eliminate refined sugars, and maybe even make yourself a DIY skin mask to “jump start” to nurture your skin’s health.
