Local healthcare provider offers hands-on support for tornado recovery efforts and FEMA disaster aid applications in St. Louis.

Affinia Healthcare to Assist St. Louis Residents with FEMA Applications After Tornado

St. Louis, MO – Affinia Healthcare is stepping up to support St. Louis residents affected by the recent tornado by providing assistance with FEMA applications. Beginning Monday, June 16, the Affinia Healthcare Outreach Team will help individuals complete the necessary applications to access federal disaster assistance. The initiative is particularly focused on aiding elderly residents, those without internet access, and anyone else facing challenges navigating the application process.

The assistance follows President Donald Trump’s approval, on June 9, of Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe’s request for federal disaster aid. Now, affected residents can apply through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for critical recovery support.

“There were many in the community who were already experiencing difficult times; the devastation of the tornado added to the difficulties,” said LaDon Meriweather, Outreach Director at Affinia Healthcare. “Our team is simply trying to help reduce some of the stress this natural disaster may have caused.”

Where and When to Get Help

Application assistance will be provided at two Affinia Healthcare locations with the following schedule:

  • Mondays, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

1717 Biddle Street, St. Louis, MO 63106

  • Tuesday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

4414 N. Florissant Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63107

Assistance for a Variety of Needs

The federal disaster assistance covers:

Immediate emergency needs

Home repairs

Other recovery expenses resulting from the tornado’s impact

Additionally, the federal disaster declaration provides access to emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and unemployment benefits for eligible individuals.

Dr. Kendra Holmes, President and CEO of Affinia Healthcare, emphasized the organization’s commitment to serving the community, stating, “Being present in the community to assist along with providing vital medical services is part of our mission at Affinia Healthcare.”

Providing Relief During Challenging Times

The recent tornado has compounded the difficulties faced by many residents in St. Louis. By offering FEMA application assistance, Affinia Healthcare aims to alleviate some of the challenges and bring much-needed relief to those in need. This effort is just one example of how the organization remains dedicated to supporting the community during crises.

For those requiring assistance or additional information, visit the designated Affinia Healthcare locations starting June 16.
