The Great Futures Gala marks the end of an era for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis. Learn more about this impactful event.
As we celebrate our future leaders, we honor retiring President Dr. Flint Fowler
Don’t miss the 30th Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (BGCSTL) Great Futures Gala on Thursday, October 24, 2024, under the Big Top, 3401 Washington Ave., St. Louis, Mo. 63103 at 6 p.m. The Great Futures Gala benefits Boys & Girls Club programming and is the organization’s largest fundraiser, highlighting the signature Youth of the Year (YOY) program. Youth of the Year is the highest achievement a Club member can accomplish.
This year is particularly heartwarming as we pay homage to retiring Boys & Girls Club President Dr. Flint Fowler. For the past 29 years, Dr. Fowler has fulfilled the mission of doing whatever it takes to build great futures. He grew the organization from one site to eleven locations and merged with two successful programs, Mentor St. Louis and the St. Louis Internship Program. His dedication and hard work, which have been an inspiration to us all, are a testament to his passion and commitment to youth development.
The Road to the Youth of the Year began in September. Youth of the Year candidates must meet several requirements, including a 2.0 grade point average, consistent two-year BGCSTL Club membership; exemplify leadership qualities, and receive a Club leader nomination.
A distinguished panel of three judges announced the four finalists attending the Great Futures Gala. The YOY winner, announced at the Gala, captures a $5,000 scholarship, dinner, and a vehicle thanks to Frank Leta Automotive. We can proudly say, thanks to Frank Leta Automotive, BGCSTL is the only Club in the movement whose YOY prize includes a car!
The runner-ups, first, second, and third place, receive scholarships of $2,500, $1,000, and $500 respectively. In the past, the Gala has raised an impressive $660,000 for Club kids and teens, making a significant impact on our community. Your support and media coverage of this event makes a difference in the lives of our youth.
WHEN: Thursday, October 24, 2023 @ 6 p.m.
WHERE: The Big Top, 8401 Washington Ave. St. Louis, Mo. 63103
