Setting the stage
The battle for home-field advantage in the upcoming XFL title game takes place when the Battlehawks host the Brahmas at The Dome at America’s Center on Saturday. A win for the Battlehawks in Week 10 would secure them another home game next week in St. Louis, a city that has drawn an average of over 34,000 fans per game — the most in the league. They’ll have history on their side, as the Battlehawks defeated the Brahmas when they met earlier this season in Week 3.
Battlehawks QB AJ McCarron (ankle) has not played the past two weeks, but he’ll suit up Saturday after being a limited participant in practice all week. St. Louis averaged 28.4 points per contest with McCarron as its starter and 24 points with backup Manny Wilkins at the helm.
St. Louis’ star receiver and return man Darrius Shepherd, who leads the UFL in all-purpose yards per contest with an average of 152.6, will also play Saturday.
Here are the top moments!
4th – 0:12: Battlehawks 13, Brahmas 12
The Battlehawks came away with the win, 13-12, after the Brahmas’ last-second field goal attempt was no good.

4th – 2:06: Battlehawks 13, Brahmas 12
Pooka Williams Jr. gave the Brahmas tremendous field position when he ran the kickoff out to their own 49-yard line. Two plays after hitting WR Jontre Kirklin for a 16-yard gain, QB Quinten Dormady and Kirklin hooked up for a 37-yard score.
That said, San Antonio failed to connect on the two-point conversion after having their first attempt overturned after a Super Challenge due to an ineligible downfield pass. In the UFL, a Super Challenge allows a head coach to identify and challenge any officiating decision on the field as long as they have a timeout remaining.
4th – 3:23: Battlehawks 13, Brahmas 6
Darrius Shepherd returned a punt 41 yards, giving the Battlehawks the ball at the Brahmas’ 33-yard line. Five plays later, Andre Szmyt knocked through a 38-yard field goal to extend their lead.
