| The first Super Hornet, F/A-18 E1, now on display at TNMOT, flew from Lambert Field on November 29, 1995. The F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet is a U.S. Navy carrier-based, supersonic fighter/attack jet. Built by Boeing in St. Louis, Missouri, 715 super hornets will be delivered to the U.S. Navy by 2027. Sponsored by Boeing and hosted by The National Museum of Transportation, a 501(c)(3) organization, relying solely on the generosity of the community to continue preserving the past for the next generations. |
