Honoring the generosity and impact of the Black community during Philanthropy Month. Join the celebration of giving back and empowering change.
This month, as the Association of Black Foundation Executives (ABFE) honors the transformative impact of Black philanthropy, READI’s strategic plan is crucial in our mission to uphold and advance racial equity amidst ongoing challenges. In the face of recent decisions that threaten our progress, our initiative is dedicated to ensuring that investments in communities of color continue to ensure equitable outcomes for our communities.
This Black Philanthropy Month, we’re addressing a diverse range of critical issues that profoundly affect Black communities, showcasing ABFE’s impact through our multi-faceted approach. By spotlighting key initiatives and sharing thought leadership, we highlight how our work drives meaningful change and supports the advancement of racial equity. From tackling Black maternal health in “Addressing Black Maternal Health Disparities” by ABFE’s Director of Philanthropic Advising Services, Trinnette Cooper, to honoring the memory of Sonya Massey in “ABFE Remembers Sonya Massey: A Philanthropic Call for Lasting Change,” we emphasize our unwavering commitment to protecting and uplifting Black women.
We’ve also celebrated the powerful outcomes of our Black Women in Philanthropy Leadership Retreat and participated in the “Envisioning the Future of Black Philanthropy through Afro-Futurism” event, hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP-DC) Washington, DC Metro Area Chapter and the Do Good Institute, where ABFE’s Vice President of Vice President of Programs and Philanthropic Advising Services, Edward Jones shared insights on advancing Black philanthropy.
