Join us in Kansas City, Kansas, as we celebrate Juneteenth 2025 with vibrant festivities, honoring freedom, heritage, and community across both Missouri and Kansas. Discover the latest events and be part of the movement!

In 2018, I truly realized the significance of Juneteenth while visiting Kansas City, Missouri. That same sense of importance still resonates today, this time across the border in Kansas City, Kansas, where more fun and celebrations await everyone this Juneteenth. Let’s take a look at the latest festivities in Metro Kansas City as we kick off Freedom for our people in KCK.

Celebrate Culture, Community and Resiliency at this year’s “Juneteenth in the Dotte” Parade and Celebration. Held on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, from 9AM – 2PM. A huge parade will kick off at 27th and Vernon Ave., near the Quindaro Ruins Overlook at 9AM, ending at Klamm Park (2515 N. 27th Street, KCK). This year’s Parade Grand Marshal will be our very own Mayor Tyrone A. Garner.

Beginning at 10AM, community members can enjoy a fun filled Juneteenth celebration, including lots of great vendors, live entertainments, games, a car show, drill team competition and so much more….

Juneteenth in the Dotte exists to promote Wyandotte County’s Annual Juneteenth Parade. The Juneteenth in the Dotte committee recognizes the holiday is considered the “longest-running African-American holiday” and has been called “America’s second Independence Day”. Juneteenth is usually celebrated on the third Saturday in June.
