You might not find this handsome former San Francisco great running pass the line of scrimmage. Or throwing those great passes down the field.
That is due the NFL and their practice of not acceptring him for his civil rights. But that is not stopping this man from being booked in the publishing genre.
Colin Kaepernick Publishing Company is shelling out more books than the Oakland Raiders’ touchdowns this season. Just kidding, but The New York Times has granted his book #ColorMyselfDifferent a best seller.
And let me tell you, from his Twitter account, the kids and parents love it.

This is the most wonderful book. When my son saw the cover the first thing he said is “mom it’s a book about me.” Instantly my heart melted. Thank you @Kaepernick7 pic.twitter.com/J40dqJ3vgz

In Color Me Different,
When Colin Kaepernick was five years old, he was given a simple school assignment: draw a picture of yourself and your family. What young Colin does next changes his whole world and worldview, allowing him to embrace and celebrate his Black identity through the power of radical self-love and knowing your inherent worth.
An inspiring, empowering true story of young Colin’s journey of self-discovery that will inspire all young readers to be true to themselves and embrace who they are . . . and how they can make their world a better, more equitable place.
What is next for Colin? His graphic novel memoir “Change the Game’ which is being published by Scholastic Books, is being released on March 7, 2023. And it his story with the hope that it may help to empower readers to better navigate the obstacles they may face.
Colin K.Publishing also has other authors who also have empowering stories to tell.
In ‘Dreamer’ Hockey player Akim has landed a deal for a graphic novel about his life — from Ukraine to Canada and the racism and other challenges faced along the way. It is being co-released by Colin Kaepernick’s publishing company.
I always long for Kap to get back on the field. Because he is an inspiring player.
So, for now let’s applaud his efforts off the field and support his work as an author and publisher. Feel free to click the above links to find out more, or to order copies of these fine books.
