Jimmie Allen is a trailblazer in country music, redefining what it means to be a Black artist in a genre traditionally associated with limited diversity. Hailing from Milton, Delaware—a small, multicultural town—Allen’s upbringing shaped his vision of country music as a universal language, transcending color lines and cultural barriers. Inspired by Country Music Hall of Famer Charley Pride’s philosophy to create the music you love and trust it will find its audience, Allen has done just that.
Allen burst onto the country scene in 2018 with his debut single, “Best Shot,” which skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart. This achievement made Allen the first Black artist to launch their career with a No. 1 single in country music history.
