Get a sneak peek of the highly anticipated movie, DISC+ Movie Preview: Fight Night – The Million Dollar Heist. Don’t miss this epic heist!

Premiering on September 5 on Peacock, “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” is an electrifying true-crime drama based on the acclaimed iHeartRadio podcast. This gripping story, produced by Will Packer, dives deep into an infamous heist that unfolded on the night of Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight, transforming Atlanta into the “Black Mecca.”

Kevin Hart stars as Chicken Man, a hustler who throws an extravagant afterparty to celebrate Ali’s victory, attended by the country’s wealthiest individuals. However, the night takes a dark turn when the party becomes the scene of the most audacious heist in Atlanta’s history. Suspected of orchestrating the crime, Chicken Man is determined to clear his name. To do so, he must earn the trust of his old adversary, J.D. Hudson (Don Cheadle), one of Atlanta’s first Black detectives in the city’s newly desegregated police force.

The film boasts a star-studded cast, with Samuel L. Jackson portraying Frank Moten, Taraji P. Henson as Vivian Thomas, and Terrence Howard as Cadillac Richie. Guest appearances include Chloe Bailey as Lena Mosley, Marsha Stephanie Blake as Delores Hudson, Dexter Darden as Muhammad Ali, Lori Harvey as Lola Falana, and Sinqua Walls as McKinley Rogers.

“Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” follows the dramatic events of October 26, 1970. That evening, while Muhammad Ali made his triumphant return to boxing, a meticulously planned heist was underway at Chicken Man’s afterparty. With guests held at gunpoint, the night ended with a million-dollar robbery that shocked the nation and became a major criminal investigation.

As Chicken Man fights to prove his innocence, Detective J.D. Hudson leads the charge to bring the culprits to justice. Hudson, who played a crucial role in getting Ali back into the ring, finds himself navigating the complexities of a racially charged, newly desegregated police department. The investigation into the heist is fraught with tension and danger, lasting for years and only concluding when “everybody was dead,” as Hudson famously remarked.

The official trailer, now available on YouTube, promises a thrilling exploration of crime, justice, and the transformation of Atlanta. “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” is not just a heist movie; it’s a poignant narrative about a pivotal moment in history that reshaped a city and its legacy.

Don’t miss this highly anticipated series, streaming on Peacock from September 5.
