WASHINGTON, DC (Sept.12th 2024) – The National Hip-Hop Museum (NHHM) will be opening it’s Newest Exhibition Gallery called The House of Hip-Hop with a Grand Opening Celebration Friday Sept. 27th with performances from Grand Puba, Lady of Rage and DJ DOO WOP. The House of Hip-Hop’s first Exhibit will be the largest collection of Rare and Vintage Hip-Hop Posters ever displayed. Each poster has been coupled with interactive QR codes that unlock rare and never-before-seen footage and interviews with Hip-Hop’s biggest Legends. The Grand Opening is at Lifted Lounge 406 Florida Ave NW WDC 20001
Grand Induction Ceremony
The following day Saturday Sept. 28th Grand Puba & Lady of Rage will be Inducted into The National Hip-Hop Museum’s Hall of Fame at their retail & event space The Hip-Hop Shop at 1921 18th st NW WDC 20009. The ceremony will commence with a Podcast at 2pm hosted by NHHM Historian and Senior Journalist at Rock The Bells, Jay Quan.
At 3pm the ceremony will begin with NHHM Artistic Director Kevin “Scene” Lewis who will paint a Live portrait of the inductees. The Museum’s Fashion Director Neil Taylor will present the Inductees with their custom NHHM Satin HOF Jackets and custom made Fat Lace hats. The Museum’s Founder Jeremy Beaver will adorn each Inductee with NHHM special wooden medallions
Fabricated by Bucky Davis. Every induction ceremony features a different Hip-Hop themed cake created live with a new concept by NHHM Chief Fabricator DJ DVS. The Chief Curator for NHHM Red Summer curates a selection of rare artifacts from the museum’s collection The museum’s Music Director DJ RBI will create a special mega mix tribute to be played before both inductees receive their awards. Creative Director Andy Katz will present custom tribute artwork to the inductees while Retail Director Erica Parham will curate limited edition Hip-Hop memorabilia available for sale only at the events. All graphic designs, posters, flyers and induction imagery has been designed by NHHM Digital Director CLB. And finally, NHHM Historian Jay Quan will read the inductees speeches followed by award presentation by the museum’s Executive Director Master Gee.

VIP is $65/person admission to the Grand Opening and The Induction Ceremony the next day
