Learn about Kathy Conley-Jones and her impactful mission to empower churches through financial education, creating positive change within communities.

Kathy Conley-Jones, the past president of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA), is a renowned trailblazer in the insurance industry. NAAIA, with its 21 chapters nationwide, aims to create a robust network for people of color and others working in or affiliated with the insurance sector. Conley-Jones has dedicated her career to enhancing diversity and opportunities within the industry. Recently, she has expanded her impact through church-based financial education initiatives.
In a recent interview, Conley-Jones shared her latest endeavors, emphasizing her mission to enlighten young people about the insurance industry’s value. She highlighted a successful NAAIA event, “Still I Rise,” part of Black History Month celebrations, which granted scholarships to three deserving young individuals. Additionally, she mentioned an upcoming scholarship fundraiser at Top Golf on August 29th.

When asked about her new church-based financial education initiatives, Conley-Jones explained, “As Black people, we have different denominations we attend. We give, we tithe, and do many different things. Our churches might bring in significant amounts of money, but are they actually teaching their congregation what they need? That’s where I step in with my faith-based initiatives.”
Her inspiration came from a minister who requested her expertise in estate planning and protection strategies for his congregation. The success of her session has led to numerous ministers inviting her to their churches. Conley-Jones implements several key initiatives, starting with “Orders,” which involve preparing essential documents like wills and trusts. She emphasizes the importance of having clear directives to avoid chaos in times of illness or death. “Let your family know where things are and have them call your broker or agent,” she advises, underscoring the need for organized estate planning.
Our seminar on “Protecting Your Assets” was informative and insightful. Learning how to protect your assets is the first key in building generational wealth.
We are thankful to Kathy Conley-Jones for presenting to us an outstanding seminar on protecting your assets.

Another crucial initiative is “Invest,” a financial literacy program designed as a comprehensive curriculum. This program educates young people about financial management and introduces them to the insurance industry. Conley-Jones believes that ministers are the visionaries of their churches, and her role is to provide the tools and knowledge to protect their congregations and encourage youth participation.

Kathy Conley-Jones continues to be a powerful change agent, using her expertise to empower communities through financial education and ensuring that future generations understand the significance of financial planning and the insurance industry.
