Pechaz Clark’s Remarkable Transformation and Inspirational Journey

PeChaz Clark’s story is one of resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to fitness. A single teen mother, PeChaz had her children at the young ages of 16 and 18. As she navigated the challenges of motherhood, she also discovered a passion for fitness that would shape her future.
Her fitness journey began when her children were young. She attended her first fitness classes with DeNay Fitness at the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club, where her kids were involved in youth programs. Though the class was short-lived due to low attendance, it planted a seed in PeChaz’s mind.
At 30, she noticed changes in her body—low energy, weight gain, and fatigue from simple tasks like climbing stairs. Determined to regain her vitality, she joined classes at The Best of the Midwest Fitness. The transformation was remarkable—she felt more energized, shed excess weight, and experienced fewer migraines. She tried several gyms and fitness programs over the years, but it was her fiancé (now husband) who encouraged her to take control of her passion. With his support, she earned her fitness certification and launched her own business, St. Louis Ultimate Aerobics.
Even after closing her business, PeChaz remained devoted to her fitness journey. She purchased her first pair of roller skates in 2001 as part of a New Year’s resolution and later took up line dancing in 2004 with the King of Slides. It was her first spin class, however, that truly ignited a new love—she quickly became certified and saw her weight drop rapidly. A spin class client then introduced her to Pickleball, and yet again, PeChaz fell in love with another form of movement.
Her fitness exploration continued to grow. In 2015, she ran her first 5K in honor of Bryant Mitchell’s mother from BKM Fitness during a St. Patrick’s Day event, sparking a passion for running. As her momentum built, PeChaz partnered with Monica Saffold Campbell at Mindset Fitness Training in 2019. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, they adapted by leading live virtual fitness classes. Though their partnership eventually dissolved—Monica went on to open The Gem Factory while PeChaz launched Personal Care Fitness—the two remain close friends and unwavering supporters of each other’s success.
PeChaz’s love for the outdoors led her to host pop-up fitness events and six-week fit camps at Forest Park in the spring and summer. She finds joy in helping others improve their health, whether it’s losing weight, gaining strength, or reducing their reliance on medications for blood pressure and diabetes.
Her passion even opened doors beyond fitness. In 2022, PeChaz was asked to appear in a Pickleball commercial, which led to her signing with a modeling agency. Despite her full schedule, she remains dedicated to her own fitness, engaging in restorative yoga, meditation, F45 training, Peloton classes, Pickleball, Pilates, CycleBar, line dancing, roller skating, Orange Theory Fitness, and stretch therapy.
Now, PeChaz is inviting the community to join her for a special event. She and her daughter, Netria, are hosting a free Mother-Daughter Fun Workout on Thursday, May 8, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dellwood Recreation Center (10266 W. Florissant Ave., St. Louis, MO 63136). It’s an opportunity to celebrate movement, health, and family—values that PeChaz embodies every day.
From teen mom to fitness entrepreneur and role model, PeChaz Clark continues to inspire those around her to embrace a healthier, happier life. Her journey proves that no matter where you start, dedication and passion can lead to extraordinary transformations.
