STL Womens Football Standouts Request Donations for Travel Expenses
ST. LOUIS, MO – St. Louis SLAM is fired up for the Women’s Football Alliance Championship game in Canton, Ohio, but they need help from their fans.
They’re asking for travel donations for the athletes and coaches, all of whom are volunteers, for the July 27 game. The donations will go directly to support travel, accommodations, and other essential expenses.
As of July 18, they’ve gathered 20 percent of their $10,000 goal.
SLAM has won four championships and are in great position for a fifth. The league has 12 teams that are split into two divisions. SLAM beat the Minnesota Vixens to advance to the championship game which will air on ESPN 2.
St. Louis SLAM are a member of the Women’s Football Alliance, a professional tackle football league for women.
Ten of the 2024 roster made the WFA All-American team. Their mission is “to empower women, youth, and families in our community through service, fitness, health, and education,” according to their webpage. “We believe in the transformative power of sports!”
