GalaxyCon is coming to St. Louis on October 10-12, 2025. The three-day event will be a celebration of “nerd culture” for all ages, with more than 400 hours of programming across three stages and multiple breakout rooms at America’s Center Convention Complex.

GalaxyCon calls itself a “festival of fandom,” where anyone can showcase their love for their favorite shows, games, or comics. Shop for fandom merchandise in the exhibition hall or participate in the dozens of GalaxyCon activities. Past events have included comedy shows, costume contests, tabletop gaming tournaments, trivia, and Q&A sessions with celebrity guests.

“There’s no place else where the general public can go and see all these celebrities in one place,” says Mike Broder, founder of GalaxyCon. “You come, you see all these people, and I guarantee there’s going to be someone you’re going to want to meet.”

Unlike most conventions, the fun doesn’t stop at sundown. GalaxyCon will host its After Dark events until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, where adult guests can watch a cosplay cabaret, a performance of The Rocky Horror Show, wrestling, or interactive comedy theater. Attendees can also get out on the dance floor at one of the late-night dance parties and raves.

Broder anticipates 15,000 to 20,000 guests and highlights the community aspect of conventions like GalaxyCon. He says that, while the internet has made it easier to find like-minded communities, there’s nothing like being in a room full of fans sharing the same excitement.

“It’s a wild ride,” Broder says. “You get to see people running around in costume, doing their thing. There’s great people-watching and lots of stuff to take photos with.”

Broder believes GalaxyCon will fill a gap in St. Louis after the Fan Expo convention was canceled in 2023. He hopes the event will bring a sense of community to St. Louis and the surrounding region.

Most attractions will be accessible with a general admission ticket, but some VIP and deluxe experiences will be on offer. A regular three-day pass is $110. Guests will be announced starting next month. An exact line-up of events is yet to be released.
