As we continue to feature all the history of women this month. We are always delighted to talk about the great women of non-profit organizations, and The National Coalition of 100 Black Women of Metropolitan St. Louis, is no exception.

Their Core Values? What they believe in… Gender equity | Inclusion | Respect | Racial & Social Justice | Integrity & Accountability | Economic Empowerment | Collaboration

Mission

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. advocates on behalf of women of color through national and local actions and strategic alliances that promote its national and international agendas on leadership development and gender equity in health, education, and economic development.

Who are we? The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc., Saint Louis Metropolitan Chapter is a non-profit organization founded in 1984. With the acute demand to address the concerns of African-American Women in our community, the Metropolitan Saint Louis Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women was organized by Dr. Freda Witherspoon in 1984.

The Metropolitan Saint Louis Chapter of NCBW has kept the vision of Dr. Witherspoon alive by providing education and resource to our community. We have awarded over $45,000 in college scholarships to deserving women, we continue to support and volunteer at the Crisis Nursery and provide mentoring to young girls in our Changed by Design program.

Changed by Design

Changed by Design serves as a mentoring program to young girls in their early formative years. Our Coalition Sisters lead as positive role models and establish open dialogue to address issues they may face while collaboratively exploring positive resolution methods.

Our mission is to help preteen and teenage girls by composing a foundation of Self Esteem, Self-Image, Leadership, Forward Thinking, and Helping Others. These tiers encourage one to reach beyond their circumstances to achieve greater possibilities. Changed by Design envisions young ladies that discover keys to their future through knowledge and confidence.
