Illinois State Representative Kevin Schmidt, R-114th, hosted a job at the Wyvetter H. Younge Higher Education Campus. The fair offered free workshops to help job seekers navigate the state’s hiring process, resume preparation and other tools to mitigate barriers of employment and was comprised of over thirty employers within various state agencies, banks, health facilities, transportation, gaming and social service industries. “I’m glad to bring opportunities like this to East St. Louis and my district.
Nowadays, so much of the job application process is online and you never get face time with potential employers. It’s much more difficult to find opportunities to meet in person and see what jobs are available. I hope this event will result in some new employees in the 114th district.”, State Representative Schmidt stated.
