Read our exclusive interview with etiquette expert Linda Pritchard, as she shares insights on modern manners and the importance of a legacy of excellence.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Linda Pritchard’s journey led her to become a prominent figure in the world of soft skills and consulting. Later relocating to St. Louis, she brought with her a unique perspective shaped by what her children describe as a “70s sitcom upbringing.” With a passion for fashion deeply ingrained in her, Linda pursued her dreams by attending Fashion Merchandising school.
However, her trajectory took an unexpected turn when she discovered a program through a co-worker that allowed her to become certified in training and educating adults in the workforce. This journey took her back to school, engaging in a joint project between SIU Carbondale and Scott Air Force Base.
Over the course of two decades, Linda honed her expertise in soft skills and consulting, emphasizing the importance of etiquette, dress, and interpersonal interactions in the professional world.
According to Linda, soft skills are the elements we learn as children that must be implemented as adults. Her dedication to promoting these crucial skills led her to establish “Fundamentals by Linda Pritchard,” an organization serving as the go-to source for all things related to etiquette, style, and workplace readiness.
Now, Linda is expanding her reach by joining the St. Louis Argus Newspaper team with her new column, “Please, Thank You, and Should I.” In this column, Linda addresses questions from readers who seek guidance on various etiquette dilemmas, such as appropriate attire for events or the protocol for RSVPing.
For those eager to enhance their etiquette skills, Linda is offering an online class titled “Everyday Etiquette 2.0” on February 6. The class covers a range of topics, providing a refresher course on essential etiquette principles, followed by a Q&A session.
When reflecting on her legacy, Linda hopes to be remembered as a supporter, a good friend, a great sister, and a lover of people. Through her teachings and guidance, she aspires to leave a lasting impact, helping individuals become better versions of themselves. As she puts it, Linda’s mission is to assist people in learning to do better and be better, ensuring her influence extends long beyond her time on this earth.
