WEPOWER is re-launching the first of two twelve-week Biz Accelerator cohorts. Aimed at supporting Black and Latinx business owners, the accelerator’s first cohort will be focused on those in the construction industry who are passionate and ready to engage with general contractors, service providers, business coaches, and capital sources to grow their businesses. Apply by Friday, July 26th at 11:59 p.m. CST.
We will announce details about the second cohort open to all industries in a few weeks!
Did you know this country’s construction industry creates trillions in revenue, millions of jobs and has the opportunity for more Black and Latinx folks to access living wage jobs? So, join us in engaging in this industry on our path to making a St. Louis economy that works for more everyday people. If selected, the price of admission is your time and effort, with the goal of each business building lasting relationships with general contractors, accessing capital and relationships with capital providers, and being positioned to bid on projects that support the growth of your business.
The Construction Cohort of the WEPOWER Business Accelerator is for you if:
- You are based in and committed to St. Louis
- You are a for-profit business owner with a passion for the construction industry
- Desire to learn and grow your business
- Have been in business for 2+ years
- Expect revenues for the current year to be between $100K-$1M
Along with building relationships with general contractors and accessing market-rate capital, there are many other great benefits, including but not limited to access to accounting services to prepare accurate and timely financial information and preparation for local project opportunities.
The timeline line for this accelerator is as follows:
- 7/12 Application process opens
- 7/26 Application process closes
- 8/21 The accelerator begins with a kick-off party
