Don’t miss out on June 27, the ultimate Must-Watch Television Day – Who will win the first Presidential Debate of 2024?
At 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, June 27, the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle will occur between President Joe Biden and former President Donald J. Trump. Hosted by CNN, it will last for ninety minutes and take place in Atlanta, Georgia.
The debate will air on CNN, CNN International, CNN en Espanol, and CNN MAX. It will also be streamed on CNN.com for those without a cable subscription.
CNN Anchors Dana Bash and Jake Tapper will serve as moderators.
Third-party candidates Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Cornell West, Jill Stein, and Chase Oliver did not meet the criteria for sharing the debate stage with Biden and Trump.
The presidential debate will be historic because it marks the first time it was not organized by the Commission on Presidential Debates. This bipartisan organization has managed debates for the White House since the 1988 presidential election. It will also make history by being the earliest presidential debate ever held. All previous meetings of the Democratic and Republican nominees took place in September and October.
Host ABC News will host a second presidential debate on September 10.
June 27 also promises to be exciting. It is indeed an understatement to say that the president and former president do not like nor respect one another, primarily due to the ongoing unprofessionalism displayed to everyone by Trump, as well as the 2020 election disability of Biden’s victory.
Neither man has debated anyone since October 22, 2020. There was no Democratic primary last Spring, and Trump opted not to participate in any GOP debates. Will either show signs of debate rustiness throughout the evening? Both sides have agreed that the other’s mic will be turned off while one is speaking.
Despite this, will Trump shout from frustration while the president is speaking? What will Biden’s facial expression be as Trump says and vice versa? Will Trump attack moderators Bash and Tapper? Will Trump call the president’s son, Hunter, a convicted felon despite being one himself? How will Biden respond to such an attack on his surviving son?
It is unlikely that local issues impacting Washington, D.C., will be discussed during the debate, so do not watch, for example, expecting to hear either man’s position on DC Statehood or home rule (Biden favors, Trump does not), crime in the District, housing costs, fuel and food prices, or unemployment numbers.
Rather, all residents of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia should tune in on June 27 and hear directly from Biden and Trump how their domestic policies—in a second term—will impact the aforementioned issues and more.
In addition, regardless of your party affiliation, American democracy is at stake in the next election. So, watch and listen closely to each candidate because only one of these men will return to the West front steps of the U.S. Capitol next January 20 and take the oath of office.

Regardless of who that man is, each of us will be greatly impacted, and America will never again be the same.
This is why June 27 is a must-watch television event. After watching the two presidential debates, vote on November 5.
