Discover the innovative world of Lacey Turner, where art meets activism and creativity fuels community change.

Welcome to my world, where creativity knows no bounds, and every day is another opportunity to inspire, entertain, and make a difference. My name is Lacey “G Souldier” Turner, and I’m a proud product of St. Louis, Missouri, where my passion for music, storytelling, and activism was born. From the moment I picked up a pen, I knew my mission was to connect with people, sharing experiences through music, film, writing, and every form of artistic expression that came my way.
Music has always been my first love. As a former battle rapper, I learned early on the power of words and the impact they can have. The mic became my tool for not just expression but for change. I’ve been blessed to have my work recognized, with one of my songs, Rescue You, even receiving a nomination for Best Original Song at The Hollywood Music In Media Awards. This song holds a special place in my heart, but it’s just one part of a musical journey that continues to evolve.
Recently, I’ve been working hard in the studio creating new music, songs like Freedom—a powerful anthem addressing critical issues like police brutality and poverty—and Pain, a raw track that dives into personal struggles and the emotional toll of life’s demands. One of the most heartfelt songs I’ve created is Grandma Marie Sellers, a tribute to my late grandmother. This piece blends church music with hip-hop, a fusion of old and new-school sounds that celebrates her legacy and the impact she had on our family. And that’s not all—Love Like This and more music are on the way, each track a reflection of where I’ve been and where I’m going.
Beyond music, film has become an important part of my creative expression. With over 16 films to my name, including the powerful film about bullying “Abhita”, I’ve been able to explore stories that reflect real life, real struggles, and real triumphs. My production company, 4 Feet Off The Ground Productions, has given me the platform to bring these stories to life and showcase the talents of others. In fact, my commitment to filmmaking earned me the Business Service Of The Year Award in Jefferson City at the Missouri States Capital, a recognition of my dedication to using art as a medium for change.
Currently, I’m excited to be in production for my new comedy film, UnCensor The Stage 2, a sequel that brings more laughs, more reality, and uncensored truths to the screen. And that’s not the only project I’m working on. I’ve also started a documentary focusing on the realities of bullying, an issue that hits close to home and one I’m passionate about addressing, especially through programs I’m developing to bring into schools. These music and film initiatives are designed to raise awareness about bullying and provide a creative outlet for students to express their experiences.

Writing is another love of mine, and it’s taken me places I could only dream of. My co-authorship of the #1 bestselling book A Black Man’s Point of View: Mind, Body, and Soul from the Voices of Black Men was a turning point, giving me the chance to speak truth to the struggles and strengths of Black men in today’s world. My book ABHITA, focusing on bullying in schools, has also allowed me to use my voice to address issues that affect so many young people today.
As a journalist, I’ve had the honor of contributing to publications like The Narrative Matters and The St. Louis Argus, and covering events like NASCAR. Through my writing, I aim to bring new perspectives to readers and highlight stories that might otherwise go unheard.
Podcasting has become another powerful tool in my arsenal. Through my shows Pull Up The Curtain With G Souldier and UnCensor The Conversation, I’ve had the pleasure of sitting down with some amazing people, getting to know their journeys and uncovering the human side behind the fame. I’ve also launched Listen To Lacey, where I give life advice and motivational speeches based on my own experiences, and Lacey Unleashed, where I let loose with my uncensored opinions on current events and relationship topics.
Whether it’s music, film, writing, or podcasting, I’m always striving to create art that not only entertains but also sparks change. My work with the JB Dondolo Organization, providing essential water and hygiene products to underserved communities, is another way I try to give back. At the end of the day, my mission is clear: to use my voice, my talents, and my platform to make this world a better place.
And I’m just getting started. Stay tuned.
