Hello, James hope all is well. Tell us how are your tickets going for this exciting event?
JW: Well what can I say, the tickets are going well, thanks for asking. However, we could always sell more, so tell your friends.
Is Harris Stowe State University in St. Louis a popular venue for your events?
JW: Yes, the institution’s Harris Stowe State University Givens Auditorium, has hosted the likes of Regina Belle, Wil Downing (2), Pieces of Dreams, Chilites, Wendell B., just to name a few. And of course most of them always draw a large following. So, simply put, the venue is most definitely my go to place for concerts on the national level.
As noted Scotland/American filmmaker Anthony Baxter is in charge of the documentary. What can you tell us about how St. Louis will be tied into the story?
JW: Well my concert billing will be the focal point of the final concert of AWB’s lofty career.
Will there be any meet and greets during AWB’s visit?
Honestly, we can’t discuss any details right now, until the tour arrives to St. Louis. However, there is something being put in place.
My favorite songs are ‘Love of Your Own,’ ‘Pick up the Pieces,’ and ‘Cut the Cake,’ do you have any favorites?
JW: I would go with, ‘Pick up the Pieces’ and ‘Cloudy’
In closing, after this explosive entertainment splendor is done, what will you follow up with as an encore?
JW: SHHHHHH!! But I will say think outdoor festivals in the future.
Thanks for your time, and we like to thank you, for always including us in your adventures.

Award-winning film-maker Anthony Baxter, is creating a new documentary about the extraordinary life and times of the Average White Band.
AWB, topped the Billboard charts in 1975 with Pick Up the Pieces, which has become one of the most-played records in music history.
And the documentary maker’s new project will celebrate the 50th anniversary of that song, which has featured in everything from Hollywood films to TV adverts and The Simpsons.
The group, who were founded by Malcolm “Molly” Duncan from Montrose and Alan Gorrie from Perth, enjoyed massive success with hits including Pick Up the Pieces, Cut the Cake, Queen of My Soul, Work to Do and Let’s Go Round Again.
But many US radio stations originally thought they were black musicians because of their sound.
It didn’t hinder the Scots, who worked with or inspired such luminaries as Ben E. King, Chaka Khan and James Brown.
