The Cochrane House is an art-filled, 19th century mansion in Detroit’s historic Brush Park, built in 1870, located in the heart of Downtown Detroit. The innkeepers are sisters Roderica & Francina James and we love to host guests! Our surrounding and decor was created with luxury and comfort in mind.
We are a private luxury Bed & Breakfast located in the center of Downtown Detroit. Our B&B is within walking distance to many of the city’s attractions, such as: Comerica Park Stadium, Ford Field Stadium, Fox Theater, Detroit Opera House and the new home of the Red Wings–Little Caesars Arena! Fine dining, casinos, breweries, bars, and more are all a few steps away from our front door! So no need for parking fees! Hop onto the Woodward M1 Rail and take a ride downtown to Hart Plaza, Campus Martius Park, or the Riverwalk.
Alternatively, head north on the M1 Rail to Midtown’s cultural center and enjoy Detroit’s gems, such as: the Detroit Institute of Arts, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Max Fisher Music Center and The Detroit Historical Museum. All of Detroit’s downtown attractions are located within a two-mile radius of our historic inn.
When you enter your suite at our downtown Detroit Historic Inn, you will find a beautiful and relaxing setting to take the edge off your day. Housekeeping is provided upon departure. If you wish: visit the kitchen. There, you will find a coffee maker (or tea) and cookies for your enjoyment. You can always enjoy a glass wine & cheese plate upon check-in too!
Enjoy a steam shower (only available in selected rooms) or relax and soak in one of our freestanding garden tubs, situated inside our private ensuite bathrooms. If you feel the need to check your e-mail you can use your own device using our free all- property wireless. Access to satellite cable and streaming movies is an integral part of the television package.
If you need supreme relaxation, we will arrange for a full-spa package right in the privacy of your room. We will also arrange everything from a private chef to private pamper sessions, if needed, as an optional service.
