KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The reliable and safe ride company HopSkipDrive will now let parents and families book rides using its app this summer.

The company, which partners with different Kansas City school districts, will provide secondary transportation options from CareDrivers for those who are going to summer school, camps and other activities. This will help families in numerous ways and families can get $10 off a ride with promo code SUMMER2024.

“HopSkipDrive has arranged millions of safe rides for schools, government agencies, and nonprofits in KansasCity and across the country,” said Joanna McFarland, CEO and co-founder of HopSkipDrive. “Local families can trust in the same CareDrivers, and our safety track record and transparency, relied upon by Kansas City schools.”

CareDrivers are experienced care givers who have at least five years minimum experience and undergo various screenings and examinations to ensure passengers are safe in back seats.

To schedule a ride with HopSkipDrive:

  • Download the HopSkipDrive app.
  • Use the easy-to-navigate interface to arrange safe, reliable transportation for a child, older adult, or anyone needing extra care with a few taps of a button. Enter code SUMMER2024 for $10 off a ride.
  • The HopSkipDrive app connects a passenger with a network of CareDrivers.
  • Once a ride has been booked, HopSkipDrive texts the parent who organized the pick-up with ride details. Details are also made available in the app.
  • Riders and CareDrivers verify each other using a multi-factor verification system including birthdays, names, and code words, for an added layer of security before ride. CareDrivers are responsible for providing the passenger with their name and secret code word when the passenger approaches the vehicle. The Rider then provides their birthday after confirming the initial information.
  • Parents receive live text updates when a CareDriver is on their way, when they arrive, depart, and safely reach the destination. Parents can also track rides in real-time through the app.
  • If a ride needs to be canceled, that function is also completed through the app.

“This time of year can often mean families scramble to figure out rides for children and may miss out on the joy and fun of summer,” said McFarland. “Utilizing HopSkipDrive caregivers on wheels removes some stress and gets kids to where they need to go. Plus, this is another opportunity for Kansas City CareDrivers to continue building trusted relationships and fill an essential role in the lives of our families, and children. HopSkipDrive CareDrivers have stepped in to support schools who need supplemental transportation options, and we know families have the same need, too.”

About HopSkipDrive:

HopSkipDrive has always been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and families. We understand that transportation can be the difference between success and struggle, which is why we’re on a mission to use technology, operational expertise, and new thinking to help kids reach their full potential by providing a safe, dependable way to get them where they need to be.

What started as the struggle of three working moms trying to get their busy kids to and from school and all their activities more than five years ago, HopSkipDrive has grown into a proven transportation solution that helps schools, families, organizations, and government agencies give kids easier access to the opportunities they deserve.

Our “mom DNA” laid the foundation of extensive safety measures and attention to detail. We added technology and logistics to build a robust system that enables a seamless network of thousands of attentive CareDrivers. Together, this is the engine that powers a unique, proven solution for some of the largest school districts and social services agencies in the nation.

Every person in our organization is dedicated to helping kids get to their full potential. We’re seasoned professionals, caring parents, and committed advocates that believe we can make a difference by eliminating transportation challenges as a barrier to opportunity. Meet the team and get to know the people that set us apart.
