Follow the inspiring story of Rodney and Juanita Norman, retirees who have spent the last seven years transforming their neighborhood through various home renovation projects.
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Rodney and Juanita Norman have spent the last seven years of their retirement buying, renovating and selling homes on the street where they live.
“There has been a big transformation in this street from when we moved here in 2007,” said Juanita Norman.
After retirement, the Normans moved to the 5600 block of Maple Avenue in the West End, the street where Rodney grew up. His childhood home is 1 of the 3 houses they bought and renovated. They also built a new home across the street to live in.
“I think the people who live on other streets, they appreciate it,” said Rodney Norman.
The latest renovation project is a house that was built in 1906 that they purchased for $5,700. It went on the market Tuesday, with a listed price of $795,000.
Antoine Lawrence is the Normans’ realtor.
“The purpose of this home is essentially to raise the neighborhood. To bring value and wealth to the neighbors,” Lawrence said.
