Join the fight against prostate cancer this September, National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Learn about prevention and support this cause.
The month’s goals are to educate men and families about prostate cancer risk and screenings, and to emphasize the importance of early detection.Â
Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in men and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men. However, it’s highly treatable when caught early.
September was first designated National Prostate Health Month by the American Foundation for Urological Disease (AFUD) in 1999. September 2015 was designated National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month by the Obama Administration.
During September, The Empowerment Network, Inc., will be engaged in a variety of media promotional activities and events to drive awareness about the importance of prostate health, focusing on the value of PSA screenings, which involves a simple blood test. The message is straight forward and simple:Â
GET TESTED AND FOLLOW UP.
