Learn about St. Louis City NAACP’s education summit to address a U.S. Dept. of Education complaint and the impact of Project 2025 on education.

St. Louis, September 23, 2024 — The St. Louis City chapter of the NAACP will host a NAACP Right to Read Educational Summit 2024:
Addressing African American Literacy Challenges in the St. Louis Region Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 6:30-8:00 PM
Monastero – Sanctuary (3050 Olive St, St. Louis, MO 63103)
The Summit will include a detail overview of the Complaint the NAACP filed with the U S Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights; and overview of Project 2025’s Impact on the U S Department of Education and literacy challenges and educational Outcomes.
There will also be a discussion the landmark decision, in which the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in April 2020 ruled that children have a constitutional right to literacy, dealing a remarkable victory to students. And the subsequent Settlement Agreement between the Plaintiffs and the Governor of the State of Michigan entered into on May 13, 2020.
