Entering a new school year is always exciting for The Little Bit Foundation. Stocking boutiques; rolling out plans we’ve spent the summer months preparing; scheduling programs; meeting parents, teachers, and school staff; orienting new volunteers; and most of all, returning to the students we’ve missed so much. We know that it’s been a challenging summer for the St. Louis education landscape. Through times of uncertainty, turmoil, or crisis, we want students and schools to know that we are committed to ALWAYS being there with resources, opportunities, and our full support…because they deserve it and are our hope for the future. This is our commitment.
During the school year, we have plans to expand our partnerships with the Hancock Place and Jennings School Districts, officially entering two new school communities in each: Hancock Place Middle School, Hancock High School, Northview Elementary School, and Rose Mary Johnson Jennings Junior High. By serving more schools in a district with our whole child model, we are able to impact students at every level of their development. For Hancock Place, as with Riverview Gardens, we will have the chance to walk the educational journey with every student in the district, who stays in the district. We’re excited that this expansion also grows our students being served to 17,000+, representing 25% of the student population in the region we are aiming to reach. We will continue to work towards a place where every student has what they need to thrive in the classroom and realize their academic goals. This is our commitment.
Commitment is more than good intentions – it requires time, patience, endurance, a lot of hard, intentional work, and people who care. If you want to be part of enabling the successful education of our children – WE NEED YOU and have many ways for you to get involved this year. Our greatest need continues to be volunteers and mentors to serve in our schools on a regular basis, but we also are looking for more companies, organizations, and professionals to partner with in bringing new learning experiences to students and exposing them to the vast possibilities for their future career. We have sponsorship opportunities available for our upcoming Join the Journey Gala, program funding needs, and much more. You can learn more on our website or by contacting us anytime. THANK YOU to everyone who supports our ongoing commitment to the St. Louis community!
