Meet the dedicated leadership team behind Peace Out Cancer, a non-profit organization that helps breast cancer patients through the loan of recliner lift chairs.

During breast cancer month, it is good to know that there are organizations out to help those in need. Let’s take a look at Peace Out Cancer, they are coming off a fundraiser yesterday, and still could use your help. Here is their story!

“Our team is driven by a passion for supporting those undergoing treatment and surgeries, providing care and compassion with every chair loaned”

We believe breast cancer patients should never feel alone in their journey, and there is a “boost” that comes from being surrounded by a community of love, kindness and positivity.

By connecting with surgeons, nurse navigators and local hospitals, our mission is accomplished by loaning recliner-lift chairs to breast cancer patients to aid in their post-surgery recovery.

Our leadership team is committed to leading with integrity, care and compassion. We take our passion for helping others and turn it into action.  Peace Out Cancer is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Sharing Chairs to those undergoing treatment and surgeries, one LIFT CHAIR AT A TIme

We loan recliner lift chairs, free of charge, to patients undergoing breast cancer surgery to aid in recovery.

We believe breast cancer patients should never feel alone in their journey, and there is a “boost” that comes from being surrounded by a community of love, kindness and positivity.

Our mission is to empower breast cancer patients in their battle with a sense of peace, hope and strength.  Founded and run by local Kansas City women who have provided recliner/lift chairs to over 1,500 cancer patients.   Peace Out Cancer is a grassroots and volunteer-operated organization.

Amy and Marcia share a history of friendship since high school. Marcia is a breast cancer survivor, and she felt a lift chair provided both the physical and the emotional boost she needed during that stressful time.  They began the mission of providing recliner, lift chairs, free of charge, to breast cancer patients in 2015.  Our goal is to provide comfort independence and a Lift during this time of need!

MORE Than just a chair

We loan recliner lift chairs, free of charge, to breast cancer (and other cancers!) patients to aid in their post-surgery recovery.  Each chair is sponsored by an organization or individual, named in honor of a loved one.  Each chair travels with a journal that travels with the chair.  Recipients are encouraged to read the stories of strength and struggle from the women who’ve sat in the chair before them, and are encouraged to write their own stories that will be read by future recipients of that chair.
