Celebrating the power of community: 100 families served this Thanksgiving.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, a time for reflection and gratitude, I find myself filled with an overwhelming sense of appreciation for our community. I’m Quincy Branch, CEO of the Branch Insurance Group, and I want to share the incredible story of our recent Free Turkey Dinner Giveaway held this past Friday in St. Louis.
This event was more than just a giveaway; it was a powerful demonstration of what we can achieve when we unite for a common purpose. Through a heartfelt partnership with the Community Action Agency of St. Louis County (CAASTLC), we set out to make the holiday a little brighter for families in our area. The result exceeded all our expectations and reinforced my belief in the power of community.
The Heart of the Partnership: Branch Insurance and CAASTLC

Our mission at Branch Insurance Group extends beyond providing reliable insurance solutions. We are deeply committed to investing in the well-being of the communities we serve. When we decided to host a Thanksgiving event, we knew we couldn’t do it alone. Partnering with CAASTLC was a natural fit. Their dedication to empowering families and strengthening communities throughout St. Louis County is truly inspiring.
Together, we shared a vision: to provide not just food, but a complete, traditional Thanksgiving meal for families to prepare and enjoy in their own homes. It was about creating an experience of warmth, dignity, and love.
A Harvest of Generosity: The Results
The response from our community was nothing short of incredible. Thanks to the combined efforts of our teams, dedicated volunteers, and generous supporters, we were able to provide 100 complete Thanksgiving meals to 100 local families. Each meal box was filled with a turkey and all the trimmings needed for a festive holiday dinner.
The logistics behind this effort were immense. CAASTLC staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to collect and organize an astonishing 1,985.7 pounds of food. The sheer volume of donations was a sight to behold. We collected everything from potatoes and onions to mac and cheese, vegetables, soups, spices, stuffing, marshmallows, and sweet potatoes.
Adding a special, local touch, the CAASTLC Farm in Spanish Lake contributed 100 bunches of fresh greens, including collards, mustards, and kale. They also provided farm-grown carrots, ensuring that each meal was rounded out with fresh, nutritious produce. This farm-to-table element truly elevated the giveaway, connecting families directly to the bounty of our local resources.
The Spirit of Community in Action
Watching this event come to life was a profound experience. It was a true reflection of what community and partnership can accomplish. Volunteers greeted families with smiles, helping to carry boxes and share words of encouragement. The atmosphere was one of joy, connection, and mutual respect.
This initiative was never just about the numbers. It was about the 100 families who now have a full table to gather around this Thanksgiving. It was about alleviating a little bit of stress during a time that can be difficult for many. Most importantly, it was about showing that in our community, people care for one another.
A Heartfelt Thank You
An event of this scale is only possible through the dedication of many. On behalf of the Branch Insurance Group and CAASTLC, I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to everyone who played a part.
To our incredible volunteers, thank you for your time, energy, and unwavering enthusiasm. You were the hands and feet of this operation, and your compassion made all the difference.
To every person and organization that donated food or funds, thank you for your generosity. Your contributions directly translated into the meals that will grace the tables of your neighbors this holiday.
And to our partners at CAASTLC, thank you for your leadership and tireless work. Your expertise and deep roots in the community were the foundation of this event’s success.
Looking Forward with Gratitude
This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for the opportunity to be part of such a caring and collaborative community. The success of the Free Turkey Dinner Giveaway has energized us to continue finding meaningful ways to give back.
We believe that building a stronger community is a shared responsibility, and this event has shown that when we work together, our impact is magnified.
