The 2024 Dellwood Juneteenth Festival will feature an expungement fair to provide second chances at justice for those with criminal records.
My name is Spencer Snipe and I am the Expungement Coordinator for the Integrated Advocacy Department of the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri. As a member of the summer Expungement/Voting Rights Team, I along with other volunteers/interns, are committed to fostering community partnerships with organizations focused on expungement/re-entry in order to benefit the community at large.
Recently, we launched a grassroots campaign to raise awareness towards expungement eligibility requirements through community pop-up events. These events consist of vendor tabling as well as professional speaker presentations from both legal and communal perspectives. Our goal is to educate people in the community about their chances of expungement eligibility and the necessary next-steps towards full-participation in civic and social spaces.
We would like to inform you of Bridge The Gap’s annual Juneteenth Celebration as the ACLU-MO expungement team has partnered with Bridge The Gap to host our Second Chance at Justice Expungement Fair on Wednesday, June 19th from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. For additional information, please see attached..
Respectfully,
Spencer Snipe
