Join the St. Louis community in honoring Dr. King’s legacy at Fountain Park this January.

Centennial Christian Church, Fountain Park & Lewis Place Community,  Central West End Church, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity – Epsilon Lambda, Epsilon Lambda Charitable  Foundation, The Village, St. Louis Public Schools – Washington Montessori School (the “Committee”) will  host a public observance to honor the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The 2025 theme is, We’re in It Together. This year’s quote is based on Dr. King’s quote, “We must learn to live together as  brothers or perish together as fools.” 

Line-up of public events are as follow for Saturday, January 18, 2025: 

• Unity Gathering 

✓ Time: 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. 

✓ Place: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Statue in Fountain Park,  

Directly across the street from Centennial Christian Church, located at 4950 Fountain  Avenue; St. Louis, Missouri 63113. 

• MLK Education Institute – Black St. Louis: Past, Present, and the Culture 

✓ 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

✓ Centennial Christian Church; 4950 Fountain Avenue; St. Louis, Missouri 63113 ▪ Guest Speakers and panelists include:  

• Historian Miller W. Boyd, III, PhD 

• Activist Robin Proudie, Founder of Descendents of the Saint Louis  

University Enslaved, Inc. 

• Historian and Author John A. Wright, Sr. 

• Behavioral Health Specialist Keely Finney 

▪ Special performances by: 

• The Black Rep 

• St. Louis Artworks 

Pastor Derrick L. Perkins, Sr. and representatives from the community partners are available for interviews  to discuss the importance of MLK’s legacy in today’s American political climate.
