St. Louis native Missouri State Representative Raychel Proudie is here for the people and focused on creating change.

She makes it known that she is from St. Louis, and has the heart of a champion by stating “I am from Castle Point. I represent Berkeley, Edmundson, Ferguson, Breckenridge Hills, Kinloch, and Woodson Terrace. North St. Louis County girl through and through.”

Raychel had attended Grambling State University receiving an ABD in Developmental Education with a Concentration in Student Personnel Services, a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. And she is a Certified Elementary Educator and Professional School Counselor in Missouri, Illinois, and Louisiana.

After contemplating a bid for the Ferguson-Florissant School Board, Raychel decided to run for the 73rd seat instead after Courtney Curtis, chose not to seek re-election. Proudie defeated Lee Smith and Floyd Blackwell in the Democratic primary and has been the Representative in The Missouri State House of Representatives, District 73, From 2019-present.

Raychel is a member of many Legislative Committees including The Child Abuse and Neglect Committee, Rules Committee on Legislative Oversight, Special Committee on Government Accountability  Ranking Minorities Member, Special Committee on Government Oversight, and is the  Chair for the Special Committee on Urban Issues.

Raychel Proudie strives to introduce legislation that helps people navigate easier in life. For instance, she wants to create a way for people who owe child support to keep their driver’s licenses. Proudie stated “It doesn’t make much sense to make it more difficult for someone to earn money that could eventually provide financial support for children. “It seems counterintuitive to take driver’s licenses or professional licenses from individuals who are behind on child support and strips their means of making money to pay child support.”

Raychel Proudie promises to do right by the people and create change in office.
