Strength in Labor is the inspiring theme for the 2025 Speaker Series, held in recognition of labor’s significance to the African American story and its ongoing fight for economic justice. About the Speaker
Malik Ahmed, founder of Better Family Life, Inc., brings over five decades of experience in community development. Since 1983, his impactful organization has worked to stabilize inner-city neighborhoods, with initiatives spanning housing, workforce development, youth programs, and more. A graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, Mr. Ahmed is also the author of From the Projects to the Pyramids, an inspiring memoir of resilience and empowerment.
