The Western Conference has its share of contending teams, but the Eastern Conference should not be taken lightly. The Boston Celtics won it all last season, and they are an Eastern Conference team. And with a core like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, they have a shot at winning another one. The East has some strong teams, and here are three teams that could win it all.

1.) Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers were the top team in the East throughout the regular season. They finished with a record of 64-18. The Cavs have an interesting core consisting of players like Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland and Evan Mobley. This core played well all season, and they looked like a group that could win a championship. They had their share of winning streaks, including a franchise best 16 wins, and prior to some of their losses towards the end of the season, they looked like they could have won 70 games. Cleveland is hungry for a championship, and with the way they have played this season, this could be their year.

2.) Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are the defending champions. They beat the Dallas Mavericks in a five-game series, and won Boston’s 18th championship. This year, Boston has another chance to add to that legacy. The Celtics were second in the East this year with a record of 61-21. Brown and Tatum continue to be a force as a duo, and when Kristaps Porzingis is healthy, the Celtics are a tough team to stop. Their playoff journey kicks off with a series against the Orlando Magic, and chances are, the Celtics will clear them. Once that happens, they are a step closer to repeating. Boston has what it takes to win it all, and while repeating is difficult, they have what it takes to win.

3.) New York Knicks

The New York Knicks had a strong season. They finished the regular season with a record of 51-31. The Knicks are the third seed of the East, and their playoff journey starts with a series against the Detroit Pistons. They are off to a good start, as they beat the Pistons in Game 1. The Knicks made a big trade in the offseason, when they brought in Karl-Anthony Towns from Minnesota. He ended up averaging 24.4 points, 12.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Towns puts the Knicks in a better position to win, then with Jalen Brunson leading the way, the Knocks may be a sleeper contender.

There are a few more teams to watch out for. The Milwaukee Bucks won a championship a few years ago, and they are out for another. If Damian Lillard comes back, the Bucks may have a shot. The Indiana Pacers had a good year, and they are hosting the Bucks. If they stun Milwaukee, they could move on and face the winner of the Cleveland and Miami series. As it stands, these two teams may not get the love the other East contenders are getting, but if they stay focused and play their game, one of them just might win it all.

The Eastern Conference will have some exciting action, and in the end, an East team could take home the championship.
