Authorities investigate the unclear motives of the gunman who caused chaos at a Trump rally, leaving many questions unanswered.

BUTLER, PA –The gunman who fired shots at former President Donald Trump at a crowded campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday night has been identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
Crooks, a registered Republican voter, was killed shortly after the assination attempt by an unnamed Secret Service sniper, according to officials.
An audience member at the rally, Pennsylvania firefighter Corey Comperatore, was killed in the shooting; two other men are in critical condition, officials stated.
Investigators have been seeking clues as to what may have driven the Bethel Park, Pennsylvania man to carry out the shocking attack; the FBI said they were investigating it as a potential act of domestic terrorism, but the absence of a clear ideological motive by the deceased would-be assassin only led to unhelpful conspiracy theories.
The man killed Saturday during the assassination attempt at the rally died a hero, said Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro during a press conference on Sunday.
According to Gov. Shapiro, 50-year-old Corey Comperatore “dove on his family to protect them last night at this (Trump) rally.”
Thomas Matthew Crooks was employed as a kitchen worker at the time of his death. Two other audience members were critically wounded during the incident.
