Two Boys & Girls Club members have been selected for the 2024 Sportsmanship Award, highlighting their leadership and community service.

Congratulations to Amari Foster and Daveion Favors, the winners of the 2023 Jim Butler Sportsmanship Award. In recognition of their achievements, they were each awarded a $500 scholarship. Join us on June 24th to see who this year’s scholarship winners will be!
WHAT: The annual Jim Butler Memorial Golf Classic to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (BGCSTL) is this Monday, June 24, 2024, at Norwood Hills Country Club.
BGCSTL enables and inspires all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
The Jim Butler Memorial Golf Classic is a charity 4-person scramble golf tournament that supports the mission of BGCSTL. The tournament includes 18 holes of golf, pre-round lunch, on-course refreshments, food, games, contests, and post-round activities, including dinner and awards.
BGCSTL President Flint Fowler emphasizes, “The Jim Butler Memorial Golf Classic, a testament to their commitment to youth development, has raised over five million dollars for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis since its inception. This significant contribution has been instrumental in our ongoing efforts to support youth development. Jim Butler was a former board member and lifelong supporter.”
BGCSTL Bethalto Club member Elise Slaten and Herbert Hoover Club’s Caden Cody-Jackson, two outstanding individuals who embody the spirit of sportsmanship, will be honored with the 2024 Jim Butler Sportsmanship Award. Their achievements serve as a beacon of inspiration for all our young members. Elise and Caden will graciously accept their awards at the tournament.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (BGCSTL) is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. BGCSTL provides after-school, teen, sports and summer programs to youth across the Bi-State Region while also providing a safe place for them to learn and grow. The Clubs serve youth across the region at twelve locations, including (Adams Park Club, Bentwood Townhomes, Bethalto Club, Lovejoy Club, Hazelwood Elementary School Club, Herbert Hoover Club, Mathews-Dickey Club, O’Fallon Park Club, and the Teen Center of Excellence). We also operate Mentor St. Louis and the St. Louis Internship Program.
