Discover how Community Lifeline Family Resource Center is bringing hope and support to East Saint Louis, Illinois through social services.

Community Lifeline & Family Resource Center, located in East Saint Louis, Illinois, stands as a place of hope and support for urban youth and families in need. Founded in 2004 by Wyvetta and Kendall L. Granger, Sr., this nonprofit organization has been dedicated to enriching and improving the lives of individuals within the community.

In 2016, they opened their resource center, embodying their motto: “Strong Families Equals Strong Communities.”  As a faith-based comprehensive outreach program, Community Lifeline aims to address various aspects of individuals’ lives, including educational, physical, social, and spiritual needs. Operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, it emerged from the New Life Community Church to provide vital programs and services to families in need.

The mission of Community Lifeline is clear: to rebuild communities from the inside out. Through comprehensive programs and strategic community partnerships, they strive to transform the lives of urban youth and families.

Education, health, economics, and community development are at the forefront of their initiatives, reflecting their approach to community empowerment.  The founders, Wyvetta and Kendall L. Granger, Sr., have a deep personal connection to the challenges faced by the community. Growing up in the inner cities of East Saint Louis and Centreville, they witnessed firsthand the struggles of poverty, violence, addiction, and hopelessness.

Motivated by their experiences, they made a commitment to be part of the solution.  Their journey began in 2000 when they planted a church in East Saint Louis, focusing on addressing the needs of the people in the metro-east and surrounding areas.

However, they soon realized the disconnect between the spiritual and social needs of the community. Partnering with other agencies, they worked tirelessly to empower youth and families facing various hardships, including high crime rates, gang violence, economic decline, and high infant mortality rates.

Community Lifeline operates with integrity, striving to earn the trust of those they serve through honesty, openness, and respect. Despite the challenges, they remain steadfast in their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in East Saint Louis and beyond.

In a city plagued by adversity, Community Lifeline & Family Resource Center serves as a lifeline, offering hope, support, and opportunities for a brighter future. Through their dedication and resolve, they continue to uplift and empower the community, proving that together, strong families truly do create strong communities.
