Meet Talibdin El-Amin

The Editor- in – Chief

To Our Readers,

In times of change, it is the stories we tell—and the truths we uphold—that shape the world around us. For over a century, The St. Louis Argus has stood not just as a newspaper but as a testament to the strength, resilience, and brilliance of our community. From the triumphs of the Civil Rights era to the challenges of today, we have been here: documenting, advocating, and bearing witness. Our city, like so many across this nation, stands at a crossroads. The issues we face—equity in education, justice in policing, economic opportunity for all—are not new. But the urgency with which we must address them has never been greater. It is easy to become discouraged, to feel that the arc of history bends too slowly. Yet, it bends only when we push together. In these pages, you will find more than headlines. You will find the heartbeat of St. Louis—the mother working two jobs to send her child to college, the young organizer demanding change, the small business owner rebuilding after hardship. These are the stories that matter. These are the voices that must be amplified. We also recognize our responsibility not only to inform but to inspire action. An informed community is an empowered community. Hold your leaders accountable. Support local enterprises—vote in every election, not just the ones that make the national news. Progress is built day by day, block by block. To our longtime subscribers: thank you for trusting us all these years. To those just joining us: welcome. This paper belongs to you as much as it does to us. Your stories, your letters, your concerns—they fuel our mission.
