Travel: Finding your new life in love with living in a country outside of the U.S.A.

People are living much longer and are realizing that they do not want to retire in the U.S.A., like it was once said. People are exploring better opportunities elsewhere including countries in the Caribbeans.

A few years ago, I was combing through my Facebook new feed. I saw that my cousin and her partner of many years were on a tropical vacation in the alluring country of Dominican Republic.

I immediately slammed down my phone, jealous with blinding envy. I am trying to do my work and here they are playing on the beaches with moutains in the background.

Yes these ladies were sipping wine, eating the tasty food and dancing the night away, just living it up. What I didn’t know was, these two carefree women were staying one month for a reason.

Olivia Harris and her partner Traci Jones were pondering a huge decision as they sipped and danced the night away. They were plotting their next big decision; moving out of the U.S.A.

At first when I had learned of this decision, I was a bit nervous for them. However, as with anything in life, you only get one, so why not live it.

And this is exactly what Harris and Jones’ mechanism took them. Because they saw a chance for a healthy and sustainable life outside of the suburban Atlanta, Georgia and the mighty USA.

In addition to the gracious and witty couple enjoying the life that any American LGTBQ would envy. They decided to post several videos, detailing their flight to right.

In the videos, they are not bad mouthing the U.S.A., nor are they encouraging anyone to join them (permanently). They are just pointing out how the move is such a eminent push forward.

Last, sit back and enjoy the first video and please subscribe to their channel to keep up with all they have going on in the D.R.

About Dominican Republic:

The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean nation that shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti to the west. It’s known for its beaches, resorts and golfing. Its terrain comprises rainforest, savannah and highlands, including Pico Duarte, the Caribbean’s tallest mountain. Capital city Santo Domingo has Spanish landmarks like the Gothic Catedral Primada de America dating back 5 centuries in its Zona Colonial district.
