Empowering St. Louis communities with career opportunities and workforce training this September.

St. Louis, MO – September 2025
Better Family Life, Inc. (BFL) is proud to join the nation in celebrating National Workforce Development Month (NWDM) this September. This annual observance highlights the programs, people, and partnerships that drive economic growth by equipping individuals with the skills needed for today’s jobs and tomorrow’s careers. BFL’s Workforce Development Department is leading the charge with a series of impactful events designed to empower youth, families, and community residents, particularly those who are unemployed, underemployed, or seeking to enhance their career prospects.

A Month of Empowerment and Opportunity
Throughout September, BFL will host events that connect individuals with training, apprenticeships, and career pathways. These initiatives aim to address labor shortages, fuel regional economic growth, and expand opportunities for those transitioning into high-demand careers. With over 300 high school seniors already confirmed to attend the Apprenticeship Summit, BFL is spotlighting key partners such as the Missouri Department of Social Services, Spectrum, ARCHS, SLATE, and others who share the mission of building a stronger, more resilient workforce.

Purpose and Goals

Empowering youth and community residents through access to training and career pathways.

Connecting employers with job-ready individuals to address labor shortages.

Expanding opportunities for those seeking stability and growth in high-demand careers.

Providing hands-on exposure to alternative career paths that offer long-term success.

“Our events create hands-on opportunities for youth, families, and job seekers to explore careers that provide stability, dignity, and long-term growth,” said Ida Roundtree, Senior Director of BFL’s Workforce Development Department.
