Boys and Girlls Club of St. Louis host back to school event

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (BGCSTL) and Chase Bank are joining forces to ensure local youth are ready for the upcoming school year. On Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Mathews-Dickey Club, located at 4245 N. Kingshighway Blvd. in St. Louis, will host a Back-to-School event that promises to make a significant impact on the community.

This event, open to the public, will feature the distribution of 1,000 backpacks filled with essential school supplies, courtesy of Chase Bank. The initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden of back-to-school shopping for families while equipping students with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.

The collaboration between BGCSTL and Chase Bank underscores a shared commitment to supporting youth and fostering educational success. “This event is about more than just backpacks,” said Deneen Busby, Vice-President of Marketing & Communications for BGCSTL. “It’s about giving kids the confidence and resources they need to start the school year strong.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis has long been a cornerstone of the community, providing after-school programs, sports, mentorship, and summer activities to youth across the Bi-State Region. With 12 locations, including the Mathews-Dickey Club, the organization serves as a safe haven for young people to learn, grow, and thrive.

Chase Bank’s involvement in this initiative highlights its dedication to community engagement and youth empowerment. By partnering with BGCSTL, the financial institution is helping to create a brighter future for St. Louis youth.

Families and community members are encouraged to attend this impactful event. For more information or to schedule an interview, contact Deneen Busby at 314-680-7998 or via email at deneen@bgcstl.org.

Together, BGCSTL and Chase Bank are making a difference—one backpack at a time.
