You’ll find Missouri’s only Four Seasons Hotel situated at the mouth of the Mississippi River, just north of the iconic Gateway Arch. When I first heard about its construction, I was genuinely surprised—mainly because nothing particularly luxurious or remarkable has ever been built in that area due to the proximity of the Arch.

I had the pleasure of staying there a few years ago and, unexpectedly, was billed an extra $50 because I forgot that the small refrigerator in my room was stocked with items that automatically pinged the reservation desk and charged to my account if removed. It was a valuable lesson: never touch anything you can’t pay for. Despite that, I enjoyed my stay, and I might be returning soon to check out the newly renovated spa. Here’s the story.

Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis is pleased to announce a major multi-million dollar renovation of its renowned spa, recognized as one of the top wellness destinations in the Midwest. Scheduled to debut in late April 2026, this transformation will redefine the spa experience, showcasing a fully redesigned space that reflects the hotel’s dedication to innovative luxury and well-being.

In collaboration with internationally acclaimed design studio DesignAgency, the project represents the most significant evolution of the spa to date. The redesign centers around a compelling narrative inspired by the Four Elements—Earth, Water, Air, and Fire—guiding both the aesthetics and the overall guest journey. Rooted in nature’s fundamental forces, the new spa will seamlessly blend harmony, tranquility, and sophisticated comfort, creating a contemporary sanctuary where wellness feels both grounding and indulgent.

A Nature-Inspired Design Approach The spa’s aesthetic is crafted with a philosophy that emphasizes natural materials, organic textures, and symbolic representations of the elements. A carefully curated color palette and refined architectural details prioritize timeless elegance and durability, ensuring the space remains captivating and relevant for years to come.

Each Element is expressed through thoughtful design and sensory elements:

  • Earth: Warm woods, grounding stone, and tactile natural finishes evoke stability and connection.
  • Water: Fluid lines, reflective surfaces, and cool-toned hues evoke calmness and flow.
  • Air: Open layouts, gentle lighting, and serene acoustics create a spacious, airy atmosphere.
  • Fire: Subtle warmth, ambient lighting, and metallic accents introduce a touch of energy and refinement.

New Element Inspired Treatments The renovation will introduce signature treatments built around the Four Elements concept, each designed to harmonize mind, body and spirit for a personalized escape. A renewed esthetics menu will emphasize customization, high touch techniques and lymphatic-focused facial sculpting, blending holistic practices with cutting edge technology to deliver transformative results.

Project Timeline Renovation begins January 2026, with anticipated completion at the end of April 2026. During this period, the Hotel will continue offering a limited menu of wellness services to ensure guests enjoy relaxation throughout their stay.
