Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Image by Making Strides

Katina Lane-Fomby has become an inspiring symbol of strength and resilience in the fight against breast cancer. Often referred to as our unofficial “poster queen” for Breast Cancer Awareness, she has been featured multiple times in The St. Louis Argus, sharing her powerful journey of survival and perseverance following her battle with the disease.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month approaches, Katina will return to her hometown of St. Louis to perform the National Anthem at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 18. In addition to lending her voice to the event, she will be leading her fundraising team, The Defeaters, to help raise vital funds for breast cancer research and support services.

We invite you to learn more about Katina’s story—and to join her in making a difference. Click the link to support The Defeaters by joining the team or making a donation.

  • Why You Should Join The Defeaters

March 10, 2014, I heard those four words, “you have breast cancer. ” The last 11 years have truly been a journey, but there have been so many people making it with me. Even though we all have our own reasons for joining Making Strides, we’ll take down breast cancer because we’re in it together. Our team is fundraising for the American Cancer Society’s support services and lifesaving research.

Believe us, every dollar really does count, so we’re asking for your help. Please donate or join our team today, because together we can end breast cancer.

Thank you SO much, Love, Katina “Tina”
