Exploring the Impact of Community Unity and Empowerment in Creating Lasting Change

Mellve Shahid, Prostate CANCER ADVOCATE

Give Today

As a small non-profit, The Empowerment Network, (TEN) Inc. deeply appreciates the financial resources that you have made available to assist the vulnerable population of prostate cancer survivors that we serve through our various programs and outreaches. Because of you, we have stood tall.

During this pandemic, TEN has had to adapt to a virtual delivery of programs and services to keep the organization moving forward and keep the doors open. Our financial resources have been stretched thin as our major annual fundraiser had to be canceled in September 2020 and other key financial sources have slowed due to the pandemic. We’re at a crossroads. Never in the 12-year existence of The Empowerment Network has our financial need been this great.

Will you join us with your tax-deductible donation as we continue to provide hope to prostate cancer survivors and their families. Your giving will close some funding gaps.  Our primary mission is the improvement of lives through advocacy in prevention, control, cure of prostate cancer and to ultimately “Saved Lives”.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Mellve A. Shahid Sr.

Founder & President

$1 Fundraiser: A Celebration of Prostate Cancer Survivorship

In March 2022, Mellve Shahid, Sr., prostate cancer survivor and advocate, and founder of The Empowerment Network, celebrated 15 years of prostate cancer survivorship. Doctors gave him only two years to live following a diagnoses with an aggressive form of the disease.

With the blessing of God, he is deeply gratified to live a prostate cancer free life. To mark the milestone, he asked friends and supporters to make a special donation of $15 – $1 for every year of being cancer free – to the organization. Moving forward, Mellve is asking for a $1 donation for each year of his survivorship.

Your donation will help to keep the doors of our cancer information and educational center open. To donate simply go our website at TENStl.org, and click on the donation tab, or you can drop a check in the mail today, payable to The Empowerment Network, Inc., 6000 West Florissant Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63136. For more details, call 314.385.0998.
