Mike Boyd

Mike Boyd, a passionate advocate for community well-being, is making waves once again with his upcoming event, the City-wide Juneteenth 5K Walk/Run and Free Family Health Fair. Known for his dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle, Boyd has combined the significance of Juneteenth, the newly established National Holiday, with June being National Men’s Health Awareness Month to create a unique and family-friendly event.

The event will be held on  Saturday, June 17th, from 8 am to 12 noon. It will be held at the prestigious East St. Louis City Hall. The City-wide Juneteenth 5K Walk/Run and Free Family Health Fair aim to bring the community together, celebrating life, health, and freedom. With a focus on raising awareness about men’s health, the event will also offer essential health services to those in need, free of charge.

Boyd’s vision for the event is to inspire the community to become more health-conscious and proactive in managing their well-being. Recognizing the importance of regular check-ups and preventive care, the Free Family Health Fair will provide access to various healthcare providers. Individuals will have the opportunity to receive screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol checks, and even mammograms. Mike stated “We are going to have a big party, it’s about celebrating life, celebrating health. We utilize the money that we make from registration to put back into the community by investing in scholarships for the youth that are going on to higher education.”

The event promises to be a fun-filled affair, with the main attraction being the 5K Walk/Run. Participants of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to join, fostering a sense of unity and community spirit.

As June approaches, mark your calendars for the City-wide Juneteenth 5K Walk/Run and Free Family Health Fair. Join Mike Boyd and the community in embracing a healthier lifestyle, celebrating freedom, and nurturing the well-being of all. Together, we can make a difference in our lives and the lives of those around us.
