Citizens for Modern Transit announces the election of new board members and shares insights on how their leadership will shape the organization’s transit advocacy and initiatives.
Organization also Elected Officers and Extended the Appointment of Existing Board Members at Annual Meeting

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 22, 2025) … Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) – the region’s transit advocacy organization – has named Liz DeBold Austin of CannonDesign, Missy Borchardt of Centene Corporation, Felicia Clayton of ATU Local 788, Leslie Gill of Rung for Women, Jay Hardenbrook of AARP Missouri and Megan Price of Missouri Works Initiative as the newest members of its Board of Directors. All six of these individuals were elected for a three-year term during CMT’s 41st Annual Meeting, held Sept. 19 at the Marriot Grand Hotel in downtown St. Louis

Gill has been a dedicated servant leader for over 25 years and currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Rung for Women.
Austin is the Vice President of Business Development at CannonDesign, where she focuses on fostering relationships and identifying strategic opportunities across the Central Region. Over the course of her career, she has gained extensive background and expertise in the commercial, community/civic, higher education, science and technology and healthcare sectors. Austin is passionate about advancing innovative, people-centered solutions that strengthen communities and improve quality of life. Austin resides in the City of St. Louis.
Borchardt, MBA, is a Senior Director at Centene and brings over 20 years of leadership experience spanning education, human resources, organizational culture and enterprise technology. She currently leads strategic initiatives to enhance the employee experience through technology, supporting a workforce of 70,000 in an AI-enabled workplace. Prior to joining Centene, Borchardt held progressive leadership roles in higher education, ultimately serving as Dean of Enrollment Management at Ranken Technical College. Her career is marked by a commitment to innovation, operational excellence and empowering teams to lead with purpose. Borchardt resides in St. Charles.
Clayton is a member of ATU Local 788 and a veteran bus operator with Metro Transit, serving the past 35 years in this capacity. She has been the 2nd Vice President and Shed Caption for ATU Local 788 for more than seven and 10 years, respectively. Clayton resides in St. Louis County.
Gill has been a dedicated servant leader for over 25 years and currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Rung for Women. In this capacity, she drives the organization’s mission to inspire all women to climb the economic opportunity ladder of success. Gill’s previous work experience included a leadership position with both Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, a variety of municipal government roles for the Mayor of Washington, D.C., Anthony A. Williams, and time with College Summit – St. Louis & Indianapolis and Annie Malone Children and Family Services. Gill resides in Webster Groves.
Hardenbrook has spent nearly a decade as the Associate State Director for Advocacy for AARP Missouri, He has 25 years of public policy experience, extensive knowledge of Missouri’s Budget process and expertise in health care, consumer and utility related issues. He has spent years building relationships with legislators and other like-minded advocates in the Capitol. He resides in St. Louis.
Price is the Executive Director of the Missouri Works Initiative. In this role, she leads six Apprenticeship Ready Programs, which have successfully placed over 400 individuals into life-sustaining careers in the skilled trades through Registered Apprenticeships. She also leverages Missouri State workforce and joint-labor management board memberships and community partnerships to address barriers preventing individuals and the state from reaching their full economic potential. Price previously served as a Chief of Staff in the Missouri State Senate. Price resides in St. Louis County.
During its annual meeting, CMT re-elected Raullo Eanes of Capaha Partners LLC and Ellie Glenn Harmon of BJC Healthcare for another three-year term.
The following officers were also appointed for a one-year term: Chair – Ellie Glenn Harmon of St. Louis Children’s Hospital; Vice Chairs – Robert Blaine of Washington University in St. Louis, Nancy E. Cross and Brandon Flinn of Missouri and Kansas Laborers District Council; Secretary – Charlie Hinderliter of the St. Louis REALTORS; Treasurer – Adella D. Jones of the University of Missouri–St. Louis; Past Chair – D’Andre Braddix of St. Louis Community College, and At-Large – Ryan Arnold of Ameren Missouri and Rose Windmiller of Stellar Strategists.
