“Black News Tonight” reported on a decision by the Westfield School District in New Jersey to place a high school American studies course on hold.
The reason was that the curriculum includes novelist Toni Morrison’s “The Bluest Eye.” On Nov. 24, Marc Lamont Hill spoke to local reporter Matt Kadosh and asked him why the push back against this particular book, and if there was more to the picture that people don’t know about.
Author Brad Schaeffer, who is a parent of a Westfield student, joins Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss why he’s against the way race is being taught.
